Isle of Wight holiday cottage accommodation situated in the beautiful countryside of Brighstone, the ideal Isle of Wight holiday location, surrounded by forest, downs, fields, sea and good beaches. Downs, forest and coast mainly owned by the National Trust or forestry commission with free access. Half of the island is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which the whole area around Brighstone being part, also the coast is classified as Heritage Coast. Many local footpaths with fine views and the round island cycle route is just at the bottom of the road. The Carriers Stable was built during early Victorian times as a stable that has now been converted into a beautiful detached holiday cottage (2003) to accommodate 2 adults and one small baby. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the rural south west of the Isle of Wight in the picturesque village of Brighstone, near to forest and downs, and within a mile of the sea (Heritage Coast designation). A pub, tea gardens / restaurant and village shops are within easy walking distance and a second pub is just outside the village still reasonable walking distance, both have restaurants. The area has excellent access to hiking and cycle routes with excellent views across the island from the top of the downs (see picture links), just up the road (half a mile). The cottage itself has its bedroom located upstairs with a king size bed, ample cupboards, drawers and wardrobe space and an en-suite shower room with hand basin and toilet. Downstairs there is an open plan layout with kitchen, dining room and lounge area containing a bed settee. French doors open out from the dining area onto a patio with garden furniture, gardens, and drive. In total a delightful quiet country holiday experience. The cottage is very well equipped so you shouldn't need to bring anything other than food. |
